Point your GoDaddy domain at your site
Everything happens in the Domain Portfolio, on one screen, and takes about five minutes.

You do not transfer anything. Your domain stays with GoDaddy, in your name, with nothing unlocked or moved. You are adding two settings, and your email is not affected by either of them.
Both records are type A, and both point to the same place:

1Open your DNS screen
- Sign in to GoDaddy and open your Domain Portfolio.
- Select the domain you want to use. That opens its Domain Settings page.
- Select DNS. You are now looking at the list of records for this domain.
2Add the first record
- Select Add New Record.
- In the Type menu choose A.
- In Name type
@. That is GoDaddy's way of saying the address itself, with no www in front.
- In Value paste
88.208.226.236.
- Leave TTL as it is. GoDaddy's default is one hour, which is fine.
- Select Save.
3Add the second record
- Select Add New Record again.
- Type A, Name
www, Value 88.208.226.236.
- Select Save.
Things GoDaddy does differently
If GoDaddy asks you to verify your identity
That is Domain Protection doing its job. GoDaddy will send a code by text, by authenticator app, or to the email address on the domain. Enter it and the save goes through. Nothing has gone wrong.
If a record for @ or www already exists
Edit it rather than adding a second one. Select the edit icon on the existing row and change its value to 88.208.226.236.
If www is a CNAME rather than an A record
Delete the CNAME first. A name can have an A record or a CNAME, never both, so GoDaddy will not let the new record save while the old one is there.
If you already have a website at this address
Add the records at a quiet time of day. While the change spreads, some visitors reach your old site and some reach the new one, and both work. There is also a short window while your security certificate is issued when the address may not load properly, which is why the evening beats mid-morning. Your dashboard tells you when it is finished.
When you are done
That is your part finished. We watch for the change and handle the rest: the secure padlock, making sure search engines see the right address, and email from your own domain.
Your dashboard shows the progress and tells you the moment it is complete. You do not need to keep the page open, and you do not need to check anything at GoDaddy again.
