Point your Wix domain at your site
Wix is straightforward with one exception: for the address itself you leave the box empty rather than typing an @ sign.

You do not transfer anything. Your domain stays with Wix, in your name, with nothing unlocked or moved. You are adding two settings, and your email is not affected by either of them.
Both records are type A, and both point to the same place:

1Open your DNS screen
- Sign in to Wix and go to Domains.
- Select the Domain Actions icon next to your domain.
- Choose Manage DNS Records.
- Find the section headed A (Host).
2Add the first record
- Select + Add Record in the A (Host) section.
- Leave Host Name completely empty. This is the one that catches people. Wix treats an empty box as the address itself, so typing an @ sign here will not work.
- In Value paste
88.208.226.236.
- Select Save, then Save Changes in the message that appears.
3Add the second record
- Select + Add Record again in the same section.
- This time type
www in Host Name, with the same Value.
- Select Save, then Save Changes.
Things Wix does differently
If a pop-up appears when you edit an existing record
Select Got it and carry on. Wix shows it whenever you change a record it created.
If the records are missing or will not save
Your domain may be connected to Wix by pointing rather than by nameservers. In that case Wix does not control the records at all, and they have to be changed at the company you bought the domain from. Tell us who that is and we will point you at the right screen.
If you have a Wix website on this address
Changing these records is what moves visitors off the Wix site and onto the new one. That is the intended outcome, but it is a real switchover, so read the note below about replacing a live site before you start, and do it at a quiet time.
If you already have a website at this address
Add the records at a quiet time of day. While the change spreads, some visitors reach your old site and some reach the new one, and both work. There is also a short window while your security certificate is issued when the address may not load properly, which is why the evening beats mid-morning. Your dashboard tells you when it is finished.
When you are done
That is your part finished. We watch for the change and handle the rest: the secure padlock, making sure search engines see the right address, and email from your own domain.
Your dashboard shows the progress and tells you the moment it is complete. You do not need to keep the page open, and you do not need to check anything at Wix again.
