EP AI Connect
PageMotor can already talk to Claude and ChatGPT: you add your site as a connector, sign in, and approve. The hard part is that when something on your hosting gets in the way, nothing tells you what. The connection just fails, usually with an error that points somewhere else.
EP AI Connect puts a Connect your AI panel on your own profile page. It checks, from your server, every step Claude and ChatGPT take to sign in to your site, tells you in plain English if anything would fail and how to fix it, and then connects you in a few clicks.

Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”- Your profile. Go to Users, edit your own user, and scroll to Connect your AI.
- The plugin’s settings page. Plugins, then AI Connect. This shows the same panel for the administrator who is signed in.
Connections are personal. Whoever approves a connection, the AI works as them, with their access. So each person connects from their own profile. On anyone else’s profile the panel explains this instead of showing the buttons.
Connecting to Claude
Section titled “Connecting to Claude”Press Connect to Claude. Claude opens its Add connector window with your site’s name and connection address already filled in. Then:
- Carry on through the window without changing anything.
- On the settings panel, leave Authentication on Always required and OAuth client on No client ID, register one automatically. Do not choose the option marked Recommended: PageMotor does not support it, and it fails with “Unknown client”. Press Add.
- Press Connect. Your site asks you to approve Claude. Press Approve.
That is all. A connector added in Claude on the web also appears in the Claude desktop and phone apps.
Connecting to ChatGPT
Section titled “Connecting to ChatGPT”ChatGPT has no way to open its connector window already filled in, so Copy address and open ChatGPT copies your site’s connection address and opens ChatGPT’s app page. Then:
- Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT: Settings, then Security and login, then Developer mode. It is available on the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans, on the web.
- Press the plus button to create an app, and paste the address.
- For authentication choose OAuth and let ChatGPT register itself. Do not choose Client ID Metadata Document, which PageMotor does not support.
- Your site asks you to approve ChatGPT. Press Approve.
What the readiness check looks at
Section titled “What the readiness check looks at”The panel runs these checks each time it opens, and again when you press Check again. Each row says what it found, and every problem comes with the fix.
- Secure address (HTTPS). Claude and ChatGPT only sign in to an https address. Behind Cloudflare or another proxy, PageMotor can believe it is on http even when visitors see https.
- Connection address answers. Your site’s connection address should ask visitors to sign in and say where. If an old MCP bridge plugin, a redirect, or a pre-0.10 PageMotor answers instead, the connection cannot start.
- Sign-in details: site document and sign-in server document. Two small documents under
/.well-known/tell Claude and ChatGPT where to sign in. On nginx, CloudPanel and Plesk these are often answered by the web server itself with a “not found”, so they never reach PageMotor. The fix for each kind of hosting is in the MCP troubleshooting guide, section 6d. - Apps can register themselves. Claude and ChatGPT register with your site automatically, so you never need a client ID or key. A firewall rule blocking this stops the connection before it starts.
- Approval page opens. A correctly formed request should take you to sign in and then to your site’s approval page, not an error page.
- Sign-in pass reaches PageMotor. After you approve, every request carries a sign-in pass. Some Apache hosts remove it before PageMotor sees it, so sign-in appears to work and then every request is refused. The check sends a deliberately invalid pass and confirms PageMotor received it.
- Sign-in codes last long enough. On some servers a timezone setting made sign-in codes expire the moment they were issued. The check makes a code and reads it back, rather than guessing from the clock.
Nothing is created or changed by the check. Your site’s app registration keeps no record, and the approval-page test stops at the sign-in redirect.
One thing it cannot see
Section titled “One thing it cannot see”The checks run from your own server. A few hosts, SiteGround’s Anti-Bot AI among them, challenge visitors from outside, such as Claude, and may let a request from your own server through. If every row is green and connecting still fails, that is the likely cause, and the troubleshooting guide shows how to confirm it and what to ask your host.
What your AI can do once connected
Section titled “What your AI can do once connected”Exactly what you can do. An administrator’s connection has administrator access, including installing plugins and managing users. If you only need help with content, connecting from a Producer account is safer, and the panel says so.
To disconnect, go to Users, then Manage API Access, and press Revoke next to the app under Connected Apps. Removing the connector in Claude or ChatGPT alone does not end the connection on your site.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- PageMotor 0.11 or later.
- An account type with API access (Administrator, or Producer where your site allows it). Other account types see a note instead of the buttons.
- EP Suite base class (bundled).
Installation
Section titled “Installation”- Download
ep-ai-connect.zipfrom the EP Suite downloads page. Once it is installed, new versions appear in your PageMotor admin under Updates. - Upload via Plugins → Manage Plugins. Activate.
- Go to Users, edit your own user, and scroll to Connect your AI.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting””Could not fully check from here”
Section titled “”Could not fully check from here””Your server could not reach its own public address, which some hosts do not allow. That is not a fault in itself. Try connecting; if it fails, work through the troubleshooting guide.
Claude says “Invalid resource”
Section titled “Claude says “Invalid resource””Usually a connector that was set up by hand with a Client ID. Remove it in Claude and connect again from the panel, leaving the OAuth settings as Claude detects them.
I reconnected but Claude still behaves like the old connection
Section titled “I reconnected but Claude still behaves like the old connection”Remove the connector in Claude and press Revoke on its row under Connected Apps on your site, then connect again from the panel.
Changelog
Section titled “Changelog”- New plugin. Adds a Connect your AI panel to each person’s own Edit User page, and to the plugin’s settings page for the signed-in administrator.
- Checks, from your own server, every step Claude and ChatGPT take to sign in to your site, and says in plain English what would fail and how to fix it: HTTPS, the connection address, both sign-in documents, automatic app registration, the approval page, whether your host passes the sign-in pass through, and whether sign-in codes last long enough.
- Connect to Claude opens Claude’s Add connector window with your site’s name and address already filled in, with the three remaining clicks explained.
- Connect to ChatGPT copies your site’s address and opens ChatGPT’s app page, with the steps for Developer mode.
- On anyone else’s profile the panel explains that connections are personal, because an AI works as whoever approves it, with their access.
